When you're designing your traditional space it's a good idea to incorporate a mix of both traditional and modern elements to create a space that is usable and comfortable. Soft lines such as the curved back and arms on the sofa above give the traditional look whereas most modern pieces of furniture are made made of hard, straight lines. Instead of arranging your furniture to focus on something such as a television, create a layout that is conducive to conversation. Include antique elements, or faux-antiques such as the chandelier and sconces above to bring a look of age and tradition to the space. Last but not least- dramatic window treatments.
